Uniform at GEM Hereford

We’ve designed our school uniform to be simple, flexible, and affordable. All items can be easily found in local shops and supermarkets, helping to keep costs low for families.

At GEM Hereford, students are welcome to wear the school uniform if they choose to, but it is not compulsory. What matters most is that students feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. Our uniform is non-gender specific, and students are free to select clothing that suits their identity and needs.

If students choose to wear the school uniform, they can wear:

  • A plain white top – this can be a shirt, t-shirt, or polo shirt

  • Plain black bottoms – including trousers, jeans, jogging bottoms, skirts, or shorts

  • Black shoes or black trainers

  • A plain sweatshirt or jumper – either green or blue, depending on the student’s preference
(Examples shown below are from ASDA, but similar items are available from other retailers)

There is no need for a separate PE kit, as the uniform is suitable for physical activity during PE sessions.

Please note:
We kindly ask that students do not wear clothing with large branded logos or designer labels that are intended to show off or create pressure around appearance. Clothing should be appropriate for a school environment, comfortable, practical, and respectful of others.

We want all students to feel relaxed and equal, without the pressure of keeping up with fashion trends or brand names. Our focus is on creating a calm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels they belong.
