Ofsted
We are incredibly proud of the outcome of our most recent Ofsted inspection, where GEM Hereford was rated ‘Good’ in all areas. This result is a testament to the hard work, passion and unwavering commitment of our entire team. We are especially pleased that the report reflects the positive and purposeful culture we strive to create every day. Ofsted noted that “pupils are happy and take advantage of the broad range of activities on offer,” which highlights our commitment to providing enriching experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
The inspectors recognised that GEM Hereford is “full of passion and ambition for getting pupils’ education just right,” and we take great pride in tailoring our approach to meet the individual needs of every student. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that each child is supported not only academically, but emotionally and socially too.
We were also delighted that the strong relationships across our school were commended, with the report stating that “positive relationships between staff and pupils underpin the school’s work” and that students “feel welcome, secure and motivated to learn.” These observations are a true reflection of our core values—Growth, Empowerment, and Motivation—and they reaffirm our belief that with the right support and environment, every learner can succeed.
At G.E.M Hereford, we see this report as a milestone in our journey, and we remain committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and above all, the wellbeing and success of our students.
Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to help schools support disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.
At present, GEM Hereford has not received any Pupil Premium funding. Should we receive this funding in the future, we will publish details of how it is used and the impact it has.
In the meantime, all of our students are fully supported through the funding we do receive. We are committed to ensuring that every learner regardless of their background, has access to the support, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed. Our funding is used strategically to address barriers to learning, provide academic support, and promote emotional and social development across our school community.
Exam Results
At GEM Hereford, we recognise the importance of exams as a key part of each student’s learning journey and personal development. While we understand that traditional assessments can be challenging, especially for those who may have had difficult experiences with education in the past, exams provide a valuable opportunity to showcase progress, build confidence, and prepare for future pathways.
As we have been operating for just over 12 months, we currently do not have any exam data to report. Once our current cohort completes their exams, we will make this data available.
In the meantime, we focus on ensuring that all assessments are accessible, meaningful, and tailored to individual needs, helping students demonstrate what they know and can do in a way that works for them. Ultimately, exams at GEM Hereford are not just about results, they’re about recognising achievements, setting goals, and opening doors to further education, training, or employment.
Destination Data
At GEM Hereford, we place great importance on preparing students for life beyond school. Destination planning is a key part of our curriculum, helping each young person explore their strengths, interests, and future ambitions.
As we have been operating for just over 12 months, we do not yet have any school leavers. Once our first cohort completes their education with us, we will provide information on their destinations.
In the meantime, we continue to offer tailored guidance, career-focused learning, and strong partnerships with local colleges, training providers, and employers. We support students to take confident next steps into further education, employment, or training. Our aim is to ensure every student leaves GEM equipped with the skills, knowledge, and self-belief to thrive in their chosen pathway.
Complaints
At GEM, we take all complaints seriously and view them as an opportunity to reflect, improve, and strengthen our provision. We are committed to listening carefully and responding appropriately to any concerns raised. In the first instance, any complaint should be directed to the Headteacher of the relevant site, who will work to resolve the matter promptly and fairly. If the complaint relates to the Headteacher or if the issue remains unresolved, it should then be referred to Rod Goold, our Executive Headteacher, who will ensure that the concern is addressed with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity.
